I'm Sophie, an editor, writer and translator who loves working with words.  ​

​I help museums and cultural organisations find the words to inspire new audiences through meaningful, relevant and engaging stories.

You'll currently find me leading text editing at V&A East. I've worn lots of other wordsmith hats over the years, including as:

• Translator and editor for a London-based language services agency

• Linguist in the English language service at a UN agency in Switzerland

• Copy editor at an international research firm

• Public programmer for Creative Folkestone Triennial, the UK’s largest outdoor art festival

• Freelance editor, writer and translator for Birkbeck University, Duolingo, Creative Culture, Folkestone Foghorn magazine and many others​

My passion for words came from an early obsession with books and discovery of the freedom of learning languages. I have a degree in French and Spanish from UCL and a Masters in Translation Studies.
